When it comes to bringing people (and pets) together, few things do it better than a good cause — and a great costume! On Monday, October 27, Fur & Feathers Luxury Pet Resort in Yuba City hosted a Doggy Costume Contest that had tails wagging and hearts melting, all to support the Marysville FieldHaven Feline Center.

A Howling Good Time

The evening kicked off with check-in at 5:30 PM and a full lineup of furry fun at 6:00 PM. Despite a little fall chill in the air, the energy was high and the creativity even higher. Dozens of dogs strutted their stuff in costumes ranging from adorable to hilarious — and sometimes both!

Pet parents showed up in full spirit too, dressing up to match their four-legged friends and competing for the “Paw-fect Pair” award. Between the photo ops, goodie bags, and community laughter, it was an event that reminded everyone why we love living — and giving — locally.

Supporting FieldHaven’s Mission

All proceeds from the event went directly to the FieldHaven Marysville Cat Resource Center, an organization that provides rescue, adoption, and vital support services for cats in need. It’s a mission that resonates deeply with animal lovers across the Yuba-Sutter community, and seeing local businesses rally behind it made the night even more special.

And the Winners Are…

The competition was fierce (and furry). Cash prizes were awarded in three fun categories:

  • Best DIY Costume – “Paw-made Parfection”

  • Cutest Pup-kin

  • Paw-fect Pair (Doggy & Human Costume)

Each winner walked away with a prize — but the real reward was all the smiles, laughter, and shared memories.

Gratitude to Our Sponsors

A heartfelt thank-you goes out to everyone who helped make the evening possible:
Fur & Feathers Pet Resort-Yuba City, Cameron Elkins – Guild Mortgage, Electronic Playground, Patience Boudreaux, Stan & Carolynn Kearby, and several other generous community supporters.
